Dave Angello
My name is David Angello. I was nominated to fill a vacancy as Town Councilor in June 2022 to December 31, 2022. To serve the Town for the next 4 years, I am running in the General Election and asking you for your vote for a Town Councilor Seat in The Town of Pompey in the Primary and on November 7, 2023.
My wife and I have spent 23 years in Pompey living at the same address. I am passionate about our Town and the special place we have to live, work, and raise our children.
Professionally, I am a regional sales manager for Johnson Controls focused on the Northeastern United States. My team and I specialize in sustainability, energy savings, and optimizing available funding sources.
I have three degrees: An Associates of Science (AS) from SUNY Broome in Engineering Science, a Bachelor of Science (BS) from Clarkson University in what is now known as Engineering and Management, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
I have served on our neighborhood Home Owners Association (HOA) in The Preserve on the North side of Town for more than 15 years as President, VP, Director, and Board Member.
I also served as the President, President Elect, and member of the Board of Directors in an industry organization ASHRAE, American Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers. I also served on our church’s facilities committee.
My wife and I raised three children — Anthony, Maria, and Ava — who all attended Fayetteville Manlius CSD. They were involved with music, sports, and academic clubs. I am asking for your vote in the Primary as well as in the main election November 7, 2023.

I have lived in the area for over 30 years. I am a graduate of J-D high school; moved to Fabius in 1991 to raise my family; have lived in Pompey (Delphi Falls) since 2005. Our four children are all graduates of Fabius Pompey.
After moving to the area, I immediately became involved in a number of community services.
I have been a member of the Delphi Falls fire company since 1992, where I served as an EMT and have held various other positions including chairman of the board of directors and long time and current treasurer.
I was also an EMT for the Cazenovia Area Volunteer Ambulance Corp (CAVAC) from 1992 until 2003 resigning when my new job conflicted with my CAVAC schedule. I was a co-leader for my daughter’s Girl Scout troop.
I started working at H&R Block in 1992 and in 1999 bought the franchise. I have successfully grown the business from 244 clients to currently over 1300. In the last 8 years I have been one of the top 100 franchises in the nation and this year I was in the top 25. I understand client satisfaction and doing what’s right.
I started driving a school bus in 2003 and became the dispatcher of Fabius Pompey school in 2013.
I manage about 30 staff at school and 7 at H&R Block. I manage all aspects of business from budgets to payroll and much more.
I have volunteered for other organizations like the Bread for Schools Run and I have worked the Dome concession stand to benefit the Fabius Pompey Recreation Program.
I am currently a Pompey Town Councilor and hope to continue to serve our community after the upcoming November election. I understand the importance of listening to town residents and working with fellow board members to make decisions best for our beautiful town. As I have done my entire adult life, I am driven to do what is right for my neighbors.

Here’s why I believe I am your best candidate for Pompey Town Councilor:
I was born and raised in Pompey. I cherish our unique way of life, and my goal is to protect our agricultural land and peaceful, diverse communities while being proactive and strategic in managing the inevitable growth. This is OUR Town, and we — not outside interests — should decide what we want for Pompey’s future.
I have decades of experience in community development. I know how to collaborate and get things done. I have served as President of the Hancock NY Chamber of Commerce, Vice President of the Hancock Tourism Council, Vice Chair of the Upper Delaware [River] Scenic Byway, and Board Member of the Delaware County NY Chamber of Commerce, among others. I have worked closely with and learned from outstanding leaders in community development, land use planning, main street revitalization, economic development councils, and town and village boards. I have personally secured hundreds of thousands of dollars in grant funding and public contributions for community revitalization and arts programs. My commitment to public work earned me the 2020 Upper Delaware Council Community Service Award.
I show up. I have attended every Town Board meeting and many Planning Board meetings for more than a year (well before I intended to run for Town Board), and I am on the Town committee that is drafting new code for short-term rentals. I know the challenges that we face, and I am ready to dig in and address them FAIRLY and quickly. I also attend all the local events I can. I thrive on meeting new people and building community.
I have no agenda other than the desire to serve this community. I am indebted to no individual, organization, political party, or business in this Town, leaving me free of undue influence or even the hint of favoritism. I pledge to work productively with every Board member, and I pledge to respect, listen to, and treat fairly every member of this community. And, while I have accepted and appreciate the Conservative Party endorsement, I have made it clear that I am running a non-partisan, independent campaign with no affiliation to other candidates or their political positions. I want to be YOUR voice on the Town Board.
I HEAR YOU. There’s no greater job of a public servant than to listen. Let’s talk about what matters to YOU. Call 315.491.5265, email PompeyFirst@gmail.com, or find me on Facebook.
Deborah (Rust) Grenier
I am a lifelong Republican, a 35-year resident of Pompey, a graduate of Fabius-Pompey High School, and alum of the University of Buffalo before serving in both the City of Syracuse and Onondaga County Treasurer’s offices for 10 years.
After “retiring” and moving to Pompey to raise and homeschool eight children (my youngest son is now a 7th-grade student in the district), I have decided to run for a seat on the Pompey Town Board. My childhood memories of Pompey include playing high school varsity sports, riding my horses through field, forest and stream at Pratts Falls Park, swim meets at the Pompey Club, and working in our huge family vegetable garden.
My political experience includes serving on the Pompey Republican committee in 2021 and 2022, being a current member of the Women’s Republican Club of CNY, and helping out with federal, state, and local campaigns, most recently to elect our wonderful new Conservative Republican Congressman Brandon Williams.
After seeing the prospect of big industrial solar coming to our beautiful agricultural and residential Pompey with little to no benefit to our town, I decided to get involved in a more proactive way to preserve and protect its rural and bucolic character and charm. First, I attended and spoke up at many meetings; now I believe that being on the board is the best way to do this. Besides advocating for a moratorium on industrial solar, I hope to support development, improvement, and patronage of local businesses, bring consistency and no favoritism to business and building permit issuance and codes enforcement, bring accountability, integrity, and transparency with regard to financial best practices, have no property revaluation, and restore the swim program. I already have the Conservative party line and am running in the Republican Primary on June 27, 2023 to be a Pompey Town Councilor.
Richard Margino
My name is Rick Margino and I am running for Pompey Town Supervisor. I am a lifelong Republican that has been endorsed by the Conservative Party. I have a bachelor’s degree in Finance & Economics from St. John’s University, and I am currently employed by Verizon Communications. In my free time, I also work on renovating and maintaining numerous rental properties that I own.
I am a working-class, blue-collar guy and a proud lifelong New Yorker. I was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Long Island, but have lived in Central NY for the past 15 years. It is here where I met my beautiful wife, who is from Syracuse, and we are parents to a 6-month-old baby girl. We chose to move to Pompey for its quiet country living and beautiful landscapes, and it is the type of community and school district we want to raise our daughter in.
I want to be your Town Supervisor because I believe I can make a positive difference for the people of this community and elevate the quality of our local government. I genuinely care about the people who live in this Town and the issues that affect them.
I support fiscal responsibility and transparency to the taxpayers and will enforce town laws in a fair and just manner. My goals are to keep taxes low, be business friendly, and to stop industrial solar farms from inhabiting our community.
Mark Nardella
I have resided in Pompey for the last 26 years, having spent the first 30 years of my life in the village of Manlius. I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Environmental Sciences and Economics from Middlebury College in Vermont, and a Master of Business Administration from Syracuse University. I am currently President of Pinnacle Investments in East Syracuse and hold the designation of Certified Financial Planner.
I have been married of 29 years to Dr. Karen Nardella and am blessed with three children, Matthew, Colin, and Natalie, all of whom attended Fabius-Pompey Schools.
I was recently elected as a committee member and Vice Chair of the committee for the Town of Pompey. I ran for the Town committee position for the same reason that I intend to run for the Pompey Town Supervisor position. That is, it is my intention and strong desire to restore reasonable, common sense, and conservative principles back to the decision making and policies of our local politics while also fairly representing the residents of our community.
I’m running for Pompey Town Supervisor because I’ve had the unique privilege of enjoying our beautiful, natural surroundings since my childhood growing up in Manlius when I would venture out to Pompey to fish in our many ponds and streams, learn to downhill ski at the former Ironwood Ridge Ski Center, and then later hunt within our vast woods and farm fields.
While acknowledging this natural beauty, I also recognize that our town cannot ignore the challenges of societal progress. As Pompey Town Supervisor, I will do my best to make certain that we maintain the unique, natural appeal of our rolling farmlands, wood lots and streams, while facing the challenging decisions ahead of us in the name of progress, including future commercial and residential development proposals.
